Senate passes vote of confidence on Saraki

                                                                Bukola Saraki

The Senate on Tuesday passed a vote of confidence on Senator Bukola Saraki as President of the upper chamber of the National Assembly.
The motion for the vote of confidence was raised by Senator David Umaru from Niger East and was seconded by Senator Ahmed Sani and supported by 84 Senators.
Senators Umaru and Sani took time to speak on their support of the 8th Senate devoid of any external influence.
Senator Jide Omoworare however asked that his name be struck out of the motion as he was not duly informed of the motion.
Senator Marafa raised a Point of order on the motion on Vote Of Confidence earlier passed. The Senate Floor is noisy with shouts and agitations.
It also comes after the arraignment of Saraki before the Code of Conduct Tribunal for alleged false declaration of assets.
He was alleged to have committed the offence 12 years ago when he was the governor of Kwara State.
After the vote of confidence was passed, the senate continued its plenary with a couple of motions.
Senator Marafa, however raised his voice in protest again, apparently against the confidence vote and walked out of the Floor of the senate.
